Middle College Fall 2015 applications available; apply now!

Attention sophomores and juniors!

San Mateo Middle College, a high school program for juniors and seniors in the San Mateo Union High School District, is accepting applications for Fall 2015. The application deadline is March 25. Capuchino students interested in the program can contact their guidance counselor or the Middle College office for an application.

Middle College, located at College of San Mateo, includes 60 students who take a combination of high school and college classes. The students, who prefer not to attend a traditional high school campus, demonstrate the potential maturity to cope with the freedom of the college environment.

Current MCHS graduates are attending University of San Francisco, UCLA, UC Berkeley, San Jose State, UC Davis and CSM.
Students are recommended for admission by parents and school staff. Other application procedures include student testing, an information meeting, and interviews with students and parents.
For more information, contact Principal Greg Quigley at 574-6101 or middlecollege@smuhsd.org or visit www.collegeofsanmateo.edu/middlecollege.

Closed Campus

This is a reminder that the Capuchino campus is a closed campus. Students are not to leave from the beginning of a student's first class to the end of that student's last class of the scheduled school day. Students must obtain a Permit to Leave from the Attendance Office to leave campus for any reason during the school day.

In addition, out of bounds areas of campus include the bus loop grass and all fields. Being seen off campus or out of bounds may result in Alternative to Suspension or Saturday School. Thank you for your support.

Student Safety News

This fall we've introduced students and staff to the new county-wide safety protocol, known as The Big FIVE

On 9/24 during our AST period, we introduced students to the Big FIVE and went over our emergency procedures in a video that you can view HERE . On 10/8 we went over Lockdown and a "Think on Your Feet" response to the presence of a violent intruder. On 10/17, we'll be taking part in a National campaign called The Great Shake Out, practicing our earthquake response and evacuation procedures.

Visitors on Campus

All visitors entering school grounds on school days between 7:30am and 3:15pm must register at the Main Office.

Todos los visitantes que entren a la escuela en días escolares entre las 7:30 am y 3:15 pm deben registrarse en la oficina principal.
