Welcome to 2016-17
Welcome back! I hope the summer was full of memorable moments! As we get back into the swing of things, I want to welcome our students, staff and families back for another great school year! I look forward to our work for the year as we continue to put students on the path to college and career. Our six Essential Skills (Reading, Writing, Critical Thinking, Self-Management, College/Career Knowledge, and Citizenship) anchor our curriculum and our goals for students. This year we will also focus on Student Wellness and we have built in FLEX days and will spend additional time community building to support the well-being of our students. There will be many exciting topics and student experiences to reach this goal.
In addition, we welcome 17 new faculty and staff. We are excited to expand our Mustang family! Our faculty will continue to focus on the quality of instruction and assessments as we teach the new Common Core Standards and prepare for IB exams. To facilitate this process, we are strengthening our Professional Learning Communities (PLC) that allow us to reflect on our practice and continue to grow. Students can expect to see and interact with Learning Targets in all of their classes. Learning Targets help make the lesson and assessment objectives transparent so that both teachers and students have a clear sense on the desired outcomes and their progress towards those goals.
Our school community can also look forward to our Music and Athletic programs shining. We will move forward with the installation of Stadium lights and will continue to showcase our Mustang pride!
Looking forward to another great year!

WASC Accreditation - 6 Years!
Our school was officially notified that we received our 6- year WASC Accreditation! The visiting committee came in March and acknowledged our achievements and supported the initiatives our site agreed upon to continue to improve. I want to thank the teachers, parents, students, district administration, and my site administration for their participation and support!
