Fireworks season is just around the corner!

Capuchino is in need of firework day coordinators and volunteers. The Day Coordinators are responsible for the whole day they have signed up for regardless of staffing. The day coordinator needs to fill in or have their friends/family sign up for slots that are vacant on the schedule. Even if the time slots for each shift are full, it is still the day coordinator's responsibility to check in with volunteers at the beginning of each shift to see if volunteers are there and explain procedures:  cash/credit card machine, stuffing bag with flyers, etc. to the volunteers before leaving. If there are not enough volunteers for a shift, it is the day coordinator's responsibility to stay and work the shift, or wait until the volunteer arrive.

Day coordinators will receive a FREE YEARBOOK.

We also need volunteers interested in donating their time for 3-4 hour shifts. We will begin operation 6/27 and run through 7/5, 3-4 hour shifts are available daily. July 4th will require at least 3 volunteers per shift.

Feel free to email Coach Jay Oca at any time with any questions or concerns:

Capuchino’s Leadership class is holding a Mental Wellness and Suicide Prevention project known as Project Semicolon.

The overall idea of the Semicolon is that your story is not over and you can be the author of your own life. We will be addressing the stress, anxiety, trauma, and other challenges that many students face everyday before it reaches self harm or suicide. Resources for all students will be provided, along with coping strategies such as resource pages, staff interactions, writing and a promo video explaining the interactive aspects of the project. We want all families to be aware of this event in the event that your student has questions or even reaches out to speak to you.

Project ; will be taking place on March 28th and 29th during lunch. Thank you so much for your understanding and support!

Sincerely,

Leadership’s Community Wellness

We are thrilled to present SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age, a documentary about the biggest parenting issue of our time.

Sponsored By: Capuchino High School, 1501 Magnolia Avenue, San Bruno
March 28, 2018 @6:30 PM
This movie will be subtitled in Spanish.
Tickets: $10/each at: screenagersmovie.com

Are you watching kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw that happening with her own kids and began a quest to uncover how it might impact their development. As with her other two award-winning documentaries on mental health, Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through poignant, and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and also offers solutions on how adults can empower their kids to best navigate the digital world to find balance.

SCREENAGERS addresses the most pervasive parenting issue of our time head on—depicting teen struggles over social media, video games and internet addiction. The film empowers kids to best navigate the digital world and provides practical resources to help them do it.
