Back to School Night Thursday September 4, 2014

All families are encouraged to attend our Back To School Night next Thursday September 4th.  On this evening, parents will have a chance to meet their child's teachers, register for Schoolloop and sign up to participate in our school booster groups.  Back to School Night will be held from 6:30pm-8:30pm.  You will receive a letter in the mail with more information in the next few days.

 

There will also be a special presentation for our 10th grade parents by our counseling and administration team in the Little Theater.  This presentation will happen prior to Back to School Night at 5:30pm.  Parents will learn about graduation requirements, community service requirements and tips for planning for college.

 

Please note: September 2-3 Periods 1-7, September 4, 2014 is a special bell schedule and 2nd period will start at 9:30am.  Friday September 5 is a special bell schedule with an early release at 12:30pm.

Student Bulletin, 8/29/14

JAM SQUAD TRYOUTS:  The tryouts for Jam Squad have been pushed back to September to allow more time to get your physical done and turned in. All dancers need to have a completed athletic packet and current physical on file in the Health Office prior to tryouts. The new dates are September 15th, 17th & 19th after school in the Dance Room. There are also 2 handouts due the first day along with student choreography (to be performed as part of the final audition on 9/19).  All details are posted at... https://sites.google.com/a/smuhsd.org/jam-squad/

JUNIOR STATE OF AMERICA:  Hey Mustangs!  Interested in politics?  JSA is the club for you!  JSA is the largest student run organization in the country.  Come meet new people and explore new ideas.  The first meeting will be held today at lunch in Ms. Grover’s room.

Prior to Back to School Night our 10th grade families are invited to a presentation in our Little Theater from 5:30pm-6:25pm.  Also, for our Spanish Speaking parents, the same presentation will be held in our Library with Mrs. Leticia Barajas.

BASKETBALL MEETING:  All interested Basketball players – please attend a meeting during lunch today, Aug. 28th in the gym.  All levels - Freshmen, JV, and Varsity please attend meeting.

IB PARENT NIGHT:  Attention Juniors, Seniors and Parents.  There will be an important IB meeting the Tuesday that follows Back to School Night. More information will be available later this week. If any students or parents currently have questions regarding the IB program please contact Ms. Tuite or Ms. Juarez at the Administrative Office.

STUDENTS:  Due to excess noise and behavior concerns, the Athletic courtyard in the H wing will be closed during lunch time. Please relocate to the upper or lower spirit court.  

PAL STICKER:  For those of you who don’t know, a PAL sticker can get you discounts on games, class gear, dance tickets, etc.  And it only cost $25!!  See Ms. Ortiz in the office to purchase a PAL sticker!
