Attention Rising Juniors - National Merit Scholarship Program

The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition among high school students for recognition and college scholarships. The program is conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance.

The 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) is the qualifying test for entry to the 2016 National Merit Program. The competition will span about 18 months from entry in October 2014 until the spring of 2016 when scholarships for college undergraduate study will be awarded. It is expected that about 3.5 million students will take the PSAT/NMSQT in 2014, and approximately 1.5 million

If you will be a junior (11th grader in 2015-16) you must take the PSAT/ NMSQT  in October 2015 to enter the competition that will end when scholarships are awarded in 2017, the year you will complete high school and enter college.

Save the Date: Wed. October 15th is College Testing Day and all 11th graders will be taking the PSAT.

More details to come...for questions, please contact mnavarro@smuhsd.org or review the attached file.

Closed Campus

This is a reminder that the Capuchino campus is a closed campus. Students are not to leave from the beginning of a student's first class to the end of that student's last class of the scheduled school day. Students must obtain a Permit to Leave from the Attendance Office to leave campus for any reason during the school day.

In addition, out of bounds areas of campus include the bus loop grass and all fields. Being seen off campus or out of bounds may result in Alternative to Suspension or Saturday School. Thank you for your support.

Visitors on Campus

All visitors entering school grounds on school days between 7:30am and 3:15pm must register at the Main Office.

Todos los visitantes que entren a la escuela en días escolares entre las 7:30 am y 3:15 pm deben registrarse en la oficina principal.
