8th Grade Family Night - Nov 6th
SAVE THE DATE!
The 8th Grade Family Night will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 6pm-8pm. All incoming 9th grade parents and students are encouraged to attend this important event where we will showcase our programs and our people! The night will begin with a reception in the lobby of our Main Theater, followed by a presentation by our administration. During the presentation, students will be led by our Student Leaders to CAPture Capuchino to get a sense of who we are and what we do. The night is sure to be informative and fun!

BOYS SOCCER: Boys preseason soccer conditioning continues this week immediately after school. Tryouts begin on Monday, November 3 for all interested players who are cleared to participate in after school sports. These will be held immediately after school.
GIRLS SOCCER: JV Girls soccer tryouts start Monday, Nov. 3rd from 3:30-5:30 pm. Bring shin guards, cleats, and running shoes. Must have all paper work completed and turned in before Monday.
WRESTLING: This Friday there is a mandatory meeting for all students that want to participate on the wrestling team this year. The meeting will be held at the beginning of lunch in the main gym.

Stanford SPLASH Program
Splash is the program that brings high school and middle school students from everywhere to Stanford’s campus for a two-day learning extravaganza. Classes are taught by Stanford undergraduates, graduate students, and other community members.
Splash is a two-day marathon of classes in a variety of subjects that are open to all students in grades 7-12 (ages 11-18 if homeschooled and lacking a formal grade level). The classes you take are completely up to you as the goal of Splash is to get students excited about learning and help them explore new topics.

Student Safety News
This fall we've introduced students and staff to the new county-wide safety protocol, known as The Big FIVE
On 9/24 during our AST period, we introduced students to the Big FIVE and went over our emergency procedures in a video that you can view HERE . On 10/8 we went over Lockdown and a "Think on Your Feet" response to the presence of a violent intruder. On 10/17, we'll be taking part in a National campaign called The Great Shake Out, practicing our earthquake response and evacuation procedures.
